Those who are fortunate enough to have the strength and support of a Union or MAP program are likely to turn to them frequently for help overcoming life's many hurdles.
Given the fact that the professions who are covered under their umbrella have the highest divorce rates in the country, it is imperative that these organizations find effective tools to help their members through their marital stress challenges.
For most people marriage, divorce and new beginnings are a cycle that they repeat two or three times during their working life. As they enter, endure and leave each phase of the cycle, their stress directly impacts their health and welfare. (This phenomenon is parallel to that experienced in American Companies and as discussed in "The Company's Challenge"
The ARC professionals have developed effective resources to help Unions and MAP programs meet their member's challenges with marital stress:
1) Training Programs for Members and Supervisors
ARC Attorney/Therapist Teams are available to provide on-line or on-site training programs to assist Members and Supervisors in understanding and responding to the impact of marital stress in the workplace. ARC professionals have designed effective programs that are available on-site or on-line. It is recommended that these programs be attended semi-annually by all of those who hold leadership roles.
2) Communication Packages for Members and Supervisors
Marital stress issues continue to ebb and flow for every member. They are often reluctant to acknowledge or take proactive measures to correct them. It is critical to establish a strong organizational interest in abating marital stress. Effective and accessible resources must have a consistent presence in each member's work day. ARC professionals have designed a communication package that effectively establishes a strong and constant message about these important issues and the valuable resources available to resolve them.
